We got up and went to the Cox's church. We had a grand time singing to the Lord. Beforehand, we packed a picnic lunch and brought it to a canal, where we found out there was a festival going on, which was very pleasant. There were quite a bit of people, and it was a tad bit chilly, but we still managed through the sprinkling. Right behind me on the first picture and second, you can see where a boat would go upstream, or up the canal. We watched that little shindig, which was fascinating! Plus Mrs. Cox used to work at this facility, which was very cool to hear stories. There was also many canal boats lined up along the sides of the canal, and even one boat decorated with a huge wooden swan breathing colorful smoke. Good stuff. Afterwards we got a few treats (some were brave enough to eat ice cream!). We also saw many different kinds of artwork and crafts under a canopy (which I was incredibly grateful for, since all the bodies inside made it nice and warm).
We stopped by a pretty, old church which was still in use! It was interesting to look around at all the graves and architecture.
It was a descent drive home where we saw lots of the English country side, one of my highlights of our trip.
We also stopped by some Roman ruins on the way home! You could see the stone lines, which I think outlined the houses. There was also a Roman pool, which was blocked off. It was very cool! And the rolling green grass lasted forever.
Then we got home and had dinner, which was pasta and a tomato sauce.. Then it was time to hit the hay!
Above: I thought the modern clock was rude.
