Thursday 6/20

In the morning we brought Sophie to school and said goodbye to the Cox family. What generous hosts and tour guides they were! Mrs. Cox drove us to the train station, then we jumped on a train to London, which was very fast. At our brief stop at the British Library, we saw the original Magna Carta, Tyndale's New Testament, the Gutenberg Bible and much else (you're not allowed to take photos inside that room). We then headed over to another train station (St. Pancras Station) which looked like a castle on the outside. Then we boarded the train, and not twenty minutes later we were under the English Channel in the chunnel. Thank goodness that was over, Dad was kinda freaking out! (not really)
We got off the train at Gare du Nord, a large train station in France (where Mr. Bean gets on the train to the beach ad well!) We got a taxi to our apartment where Alexander, the owner, greeted us and all that jazz. We then relaxed, went to the grocery store about the size of a restaurant (which was pretty big for Paris, and very American looking), and ate dinner. Then us older kids and Dad strolled around the town a bit (Keiren and I saw Ben Feldman talking on his phone pretty loudly and smiling and laughing, a French faux par). We continued home and went to bed, listening to the sound of the city.

^here you can see the entrance to the British Library just beyond that statue. You can also see the top of St. Pancras Station.

^just chillin' in the Chunnel.
This was Gare du Nord (I didn't want to look like a tourist and pull my camera up to take photos, sorry :P)

This was the day view from my window, which was really nice because I loved listening to the Parisian street. It just sounded so nice, and so unlike America)
